Dr. Kara Hutter
Dr. Kara Hutter started working for us in May of 2023. She is a 2023 Graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. During her time at the UW, Dr. Hutter enjoyed working in emergency medicine and spent two years working at Veterinary Emergency Services in Madison. In addition to ER and urgent care, Dr. Hutter enjoys surgery and shelter medicine. She is excited to bring new techniques and ideas to our practice.
Dr. Hutter is a 2016 Graduate of River Valley High School and grew up in the Spring Green area on her family farm. This is where her love of animals first started! Her parents, Will & Tracie, allowed her to have a menagerie of animals from rabbits to pigs all of which she supported on her sweetcorn sales!
These days you can find Dr. Hutter roaming around with her four dogs- Addie (Chocolate Lab), GiGi (Chocolate Lab), Blanche (French Bulldog), and Bascom (Dalmatian), caring for her 16-year-old cat, Benny, or yelling at her deaf cat-Stu, to get off the counter. When she's not hanging out with her zoo/circus, she and her husband, Matthew, enjoy going to local restaurants and catching up on bad TV.

Dr. Eric Howlett
Dr. Eric was born and raised in Texas. Before finding his true calling as a small animal veterinarian, Dr. Eric had a very broad science background including a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with Post-Doctoral training in Radiation Oncology and Public Health. After traveling widely in areas as varied as Nepal, Rwanda, Ecuador, and Tanzania, he has found a long term home in the Mazomanie area, graduating from the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He has practiced in the area the past seven years.
He and his wife enjoy their free time on their small farm homestead caring for their menagerie of cows, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.
Dr. Eric has certification and a passion for a fear free approach to reduce stress and anxiety for his dog and especially cat patients. He particularly enjoys building relationships with pets and their owners to better understand their needs and allow him to give the best advice tailored for that particular individual, whether that be the most pampered family pet, an old farm cat or dog, or the prized hunting dog or show cat. After getting to know you and your pet, he prefers to follow a cooperative approach for deciding on the best preventative, surgical, or medical care for your pets.

Dr. Liz Jacka
Dr. Liz Jacka is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. A native Wisconsinite, she grew up in Kenosha and earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at UW-Parkside before moving to the Madison area in 2006. Since graduating from veterinary school, her career has revolved around practicing as a small animal veterinarian and teaching at the UW Veterinary School, where she enjoyed mentoring the bright new members of the profession.
Dr. Jacka is passionate about wellbeing for both animals and humans. Her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is helping preserve the special bond between people and their beloved pets by getting to know you as an individual and offering medical solutions to support the best quality of life for your furry companion. A teacher at heart, she focuses on helping pet parents understand what is going on with their pet in order to make informed decisions about their care. Her special areas of interest include clinical pathology, endocrinology, animal behavior, and senior pet wellness and end-of-life care.
In her free time, Dr. Liz loves running, reading, crafting, hiking, kayaking, and anything that involves the great outdoors. She and her husband enjoy exploring the world and have summited mountains together in the US, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand - with more adventures ahead! At home in New Glarus, WI, you can often find her in her garden or out hiking the Ice Age Trail with at least one of her three Australian Shepherds (Zoe, Cria, and Badger).
